The Tour of Worcester started when the Tour of Britain started in Worcester in 2007.
We have followed most of the route in Worcestershire and added our own bits to make it even tougher.
The classic Malvern climb followed by Ankerdine still feature but the route then takes in Stanhope Bank before Tenbury Wells and a short excursion into Shropshire before returning to tackle the “Killer option” of Wynniattes Way in Abberley (a 25% monster) but only if you want to!
After the feed, visited twice, there are five more climbs before returning to Worcester.
The Start and Finish is at Worcester Racecourse in the centre of the City with an easy run out of the City and a cycle route finish to avoid all the traffic.
There are three routes available - the full 90 miler, a shorter 60 miler and a family ride around the City’s cycle routes, the latter operated by the local council.
We offer two feeds en route and refreshments on your return, a service bike, broom wagon, optional timing, plus the well recognised routing arrows operated by Wheels in Wheels. A goody bag is available on your return plus the chance to view your photographs taken en route to record your efforts.
Entries are limited to 1000 and we hope to see many of our friends out supporting the Geoff Thomas Foundation our favoured charity for 2010.
