Welcome to the 6th Duva International sportive in Port de Pollensa, Majorca.
2013 sees a forced change to the normal running due to the overcrowded sporting calendar on the Island, which means we can only run the Saturday ride which takes us through the mountains on the 83 mile journey.
Saturday´s 135km mountain challenge route takes in the three best climbs on the Island, plus a few leg stretchers beforehand. The first climb is the Orient followed by a food stop at the summit and then the magnificent Col De Soller before the next section, the 14km Puig Major. After a quick refreshment stop, it’s a fast decent back to the Duva Hotel for the presentations and celebrations.
The Police will operate a rolling road closure backed up by the local motorcycle escort group, and the peloton will remain intact until we reach the different sections. The speed will be dictated by the police and lead car, but will not exceed a speed that breaks up the peloton.
At each section you will then be allowed to ride at whatever pace you can or wish to, please note that we advise everyone rides to the right in case vehicles creep onto the route and drive towards the oncoming riders on these sections. After each section there is a feed stop or where the peloton regroups before continuing on the ride, these will be for 10-30mins each time.
The feeds will have energy products and fruit and water.
Saturday start will be outside the Duva Hotel at 09.00 and the route can be found on the website and the routometer is also listed.
There will be a backup vehicle and mechanical assistance with full medical support at all times.
The Presentation party will be held at the Duva Poolside, in front of the stage area 30 minutes after the finish on Saturday.
Those entered are free; however partners and friends will be charged 8 Euros. Tickets are available at the registration in the hotel.
International riders £35
Federated riders 30 Euros
