Thank you for entering the 6th Tour of Worcester, starting and finishing at Worcester Racecourse.

Please follow the brown information signs to the Racecourse in the centre of town and then follow the Cycle event HQ and Car Park signs to take you to the Centre Pavilion for registration.

There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the registration.

Registration will not open before 07.30 and closes at 08.30. Please sign on and collect your ride number and timing card, for each route and display your number on the front of your cycle so we and our photographer can recognise you enroute. For additional Team entries and on the day entry please go to the separate signing on desk.

Free tea and coffee will be available at signing on.

Both rides will start from 08.30 and last rider can leave at 09.15. Riders will be allowed to leave in small groups of 10-15 maximum, so Teams wishing to ride together please organise yourselves to arrive at the timing clocks in your group.

Please follow the YELLOW arrows which will be situated at each turn and approximately every mile, please adhere to the warning signs placed at various points around the route for your safety and to warn oncoming traffic. There will not be any route cards or maps for this year’s route. GPX files are available on line. Each major climb is named
Please bring your timing card to the start and we will clock you out onto the route and we will keep the card for our health and safety records and clock you back in. Times will be available on the website early on 14th October.

There will be a FEED stop at the Hundred House car park at Great Witney, and this will visited twice on the long route and once on the shorter ride. There will energy drinks and gels, cake, bananas and a range of savouries.
The feed is at 37miles and 68 miles (long route only) Feed opens at 10 30am.

PLEASE NOTE THE LONG ROUTE WILL CLOSE AT 12.30 AT THIS POINT and riders will not be allowed onto the long route and diverted on to the shorter ride.

The feed stop is also the ROUTE SPLIT so please ensure you set off in the correct direction and right route.

At 67miles there is the famous “Killer Option” of Wynniattes Way a 25% climb well known in the area and a great test for the climbers? It is an option and is only a mile longer to complete it.

We will announce the condition of the climb at registration and if it is ride able. If you do not wish to attempt the climb follow the signs to take you to the feed.

The second feed will close at 2.45PM and riders returning after this time will be directed onto the A443 via Little Witney and onto HOLT to rejoin the route this reduces the distance by 11 miles and avoids only 2 climbs.

After your last visit to the feed you will reach a very dangerous descent with a FORD at the bottom on the descent. This will be heavily signed and currently is just ride able and there is a footbridge as our preferred option. PLEASE ADHERE TO THESE WARNING SIGNS Please check the notice board at the start for up to date information on the route condition.

The final miles follow a local cycle route through a park and onto the Racecourse to avoid the main roads, please take care to check you are on route when arriving back into Worcester. These paths are shared with walkers and other cyclists and bring you past the main racecourse grandstand. You will have to re-cross the racecourse back to the timing point and finish.

On your return to the finish we have arranged a local massage service so you can have your legs rejuvenated. This service will be by donation and well worth it.

Please don’t forget to collect your FREE copy of this new and dedicated sportif publication and even take some for your friends all FREE.

Please make a note of the emergency telephone numbers shown at signing on.

Any riders abandoning the ride for any reason must inform the emergency numbers so we can inform the timing.

We expect all riders to carry out minor repairs such as punctures themselves. We will have spares and wheels located around the route if required. There is a broom wagon for more terminal breakdowns, please contact the emergency numbers for this or get to the feed point.

In the event of an accident if minor (the rider can continue or make their own way back to the start) contact us, if it is deemed more serious please contact the emergency services and inform us of the riders details or ride number.

Please have a safe and enjoyable ride and adhere to the HIGHWAY CODE at all times, we reserve the right to remove riders from the event breaking the rules.

Please be courteous to all road users and fellow cyclists alike.
