This sportive which stays within the Cambridgeshire borders will offer two routes of 100m and 100kms to test the legs and visit 5 military bases en route to help support the SSAFA Forces Help (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) charity - Reg charity No210760/ Scotland No SC 038056.
Based in Cambridge the start and finish will be at Marshalls site on the edge of the City and offer free car parking, 2 testing routes, minimum of 2 feeds for each route and an after ride snack to help replenish the energy levels.
Cambridgeshire isn’t quite as flat as some may think and offers a good day out for even the most experienced sportivers with 10 recognised climbs en route. The short route follows much of the longer ride early on and includes 5 climbs in the 100km distance.
All routes will be fully signed, have full mechanical backup , broom wagon, chip timing, and a finishers certificate at the end.
This Sportive is in aid of the SSAFA Forces Help charity and all proceeds will go to the charity. If you wish to raise additional sponsorship to support the charity please register through Just Giving.
There will also be a Family Ride around the cycle routes of Cambridge so we can offer something for all the family, this will also be fully signed and maps will be available for all routes.
Cambridge has very easy transport links from London and the midlands and East Anglia can be reached in less than 90 minutes.
SSAFA events are very popular and sell out very quickly and with a 500 limit for the first year we advise an early entry to secure your ride. Enter a team of 10 and get one rider free*, entries are £29.50 on line and a paper entry is available at a small surcharge.
The event will benefit from the Shimano Test Wheel Fleet so you can register to test the top Shimano wheels for free. See separate web page to register.
